Art might have taken a back seat to family gatherings and visitors, but I did get the time to complete an artwork for the Albury Wodonga Art Society MAMA exhibition, which opens Thursday 3rd August at 5pm. The artwork is made from fused repurposed plastic bags.

Family Reunion - My mother's elder sister was the last in the generation to pass away and although she lived in Newcastle she grew up at Talgarno and requested her ashes to rest at the Talgarno Cemetery with her parents and grandparents. What a great opportunity it was to reminisce with family. Although it was a cold day we had a wonderful time checking out the Broome family history at the cemetery then onto dinner afterwards. Along with the local families, people came from Melbourne, Batemans Bay, Sydney, Maitland and Newcastle.

The weather was perfect....scene overlooking the cemetery.

All the kids had such a great time climbing trees.

This Stained Glass window was originally a gift from my grandparents to St Thomas's Church Talgarno back in 1952. When the church was sold to a private owner a year or so ago we had the window removed from St Thomas's and installed in St John's Church Wodonga. With all the family here for the weekend we attended Sunday morning service and enjoyed the fellowship of being together in the presence of the window.  

In the process of having the window relocated we were informed it was a world class piece of unique artwork of a quality not often seen in stained glass windows. During summer when the sun is higher it's position in the eastern wall of St John's allows the morning sun to provide a stunning array of colour into the church.
